Gross motor
- Pulls to stand and cruises along furniture.
- May stand briefly or take first steps.
Fine motor
- Uses pincer grasp.
- Puts objects into containers and points with index finger.
Language
- Says mama/dada specifically and one or more words.
- Follows simple commands with gestures.
Social
- Waves bye-bye and imitates simple actions.
- Shows preference for caregivers.
Cognitive
- Searches for hidden objects.
- Uses objects correctly, such as cup or comb, with help.
Red flags and when to consult
- Not sitting or not pulling to stand.
- No pointing, no babbling/words, poor eye contact, or loss of skills.
